NASA Biodiversity Grant
We were recently funded on a NASA biodiversity grant to better predict ecosystem services of animals across the tropics.
Read more about the proposal here.
We are currently looking for a Postdoc to work on this three year project. Please contact chris.doughty@nau.edu if interested.
We will use (A) Satellite derived LiDAR data to predict global forest structure. We will combine this with animal motion data to (B) understand how animals affect and are affected by forest structure in tropical forests. Finally, we will use these results to (C) parameterize a global ecosystem model (Madingley) to better predict animal ecosystem services like carbon sequestration and nutrient dispersal across the tropics.
